The outcome is committed to a seed pair before the second player joins, so neither side can see or influence which way it will land, and either player can recompute the flip from the revealed seeds afterwards - the fairness page walks through the calculation. Winnings are sent as Rust skins by Steam trade offer. A 50/50 is exactly what it says: half the flips you enter will lose everything you staked, so stake accordingly.
